North Georgia Textile Supply (NGTS) has always been an innovation leader in recycling high volumes of post-industrial and post-consumer scrap. We have over 40 years of experience in the recycling industry with a long list of satisfied clients. NGTS is able to divert thousands of tons of useful plastics from landfills to recycle each year. We specialize in product destruction, sorting, and toll processing. We have three different plants to warehouse and process recyclable materials. We operate multiple high speed balers to handle any job. Recycling - Helping the Environment

Benefits of Recycling

  • Recycling protects and expands US manufacturing jobs and increases US competitiveness.
  • Recycling reduces landfill and incineration waste.
  • Recycling prevents pollution caused by the manufacturing of products from virgin materials.
  • Recycling saves energy.
  • Recycling decreases emissions of greenhouse gases that contribute to global climate change.
  • Recycling conserves natural resources such as timber, water, and minerals.
  • Recycling helps sustain the environment for future generations.

Less Pressure on Landfills and More Natural Resources for Future Generations

Recycling revenues can help defray recycling costs and avert the need for new disposal capacity. Every cubic yard of material recycled is one less cubic yard of landfill space required. These avoided costs are part of the “revenues” that recycling brings to a community. In 1996, 130 million cubic yards of material were diverted from landfills due to recycling and composting. If this amount of material had not been recycled, the U.S. would have needed 64 additional landfills, each with enough capacity to serve the combined city populations of Dallas and Detroit. By substituting recovered scrap materials for the use of trees, metal ores, minerals, oil, and other virgin materials, recycling reduces the pressure to expand forestry and mining production. Recycling one ton of paper saves the equivalent of 17 trees and 7,000 gallons of water. Fossil fuels and metals are nonrenewable resources. They cannot be replenished by nature within our lifetimes and are in limited supply. The more of these materials we extract, the less that remains for future generations.
